A while back I wrote an article called "The Problem with Flametown".

In the short time since then, quite a number of Flame forums have bitten the dust. The list is pretty extensive: Flame Champs, Caged-Rage, Wirecutters, Digital Strife, Runction Junction, Conqueror Club (which has forbid flaming there now) and the various blogs connected with these forums.

The question is, why have all of these forums gone the way of the Dinosaur? Leaving only Brawl-Hall and a few other, very small, forums left?

The most likely reason is because these forums fell into the trap of running their sites for the "regs" only. This led them to literally force newbie members out of the sites.

Various (and definitely) bogus threats of RL consequences eventually would follow confrontation between the newbies and the regs; DOS attacks, netcopping, smear campaigns.....all designed to force the new members away.

The end result were dying forums...like TDT, for instance, who continues to be a forum consisting of about five or so regular posters. Since some sites had to use dedicated servers, the cost of running a forum for about five people wasn't really worth the expense.

In short, the flame forums killed themselves. No small loss, considering how worthless most of the regs on those forums are.

Do you really believe that angle will work on a place like Brawl-Hall?

I've seen your endless attempts at the same on other forums where you contribute nothing much further than a topic and wait for others to "tell you more".
